Have you ever been asked by a paint technician when you are changing your bedroom color or furnishing a new room about the paint type you want but you couldn’t find any clue in your mind to answer?
In fact, there are various paint types; and each type is meant for different uses and purposes. In this article, we will let you know about the exact best types of paint to use in your bedroom.
what are the paints?
Paints are heavy chemical mixture used to color the wall or change its color to the desired one. With the industry advances, paint now has new features and properties that were not present before.
The difference between water-based paint and oil-based paint:
Paint experts or those with a painting background know that before applying paint, it must be first diluted in a specific proportion to be hot to trot for painting. By nature of their chemical composition, water-based paint is diluted with water, while oil-based paint is diluted with paint thinner.
What do Al-Jazeera Paints’ experts advise in painting a bedroom?
It is preferably advised to choose water-based paint in bedrooms and closed places as water-based paint does not emit strong odors in the place and it does not attack the oxygen ratio inside the room, contrasted to oil-based paint which draws part of the oxygen inside the closed rooms due to its chemical composition.
For open places such as halls and corridors, there is no harm in using oil-based paint.
As a basic rule of thumb, the points that should be considered before choosing the paint are the four paint glossiness degrees, as follows:
Low-gloss
Satin
Semi-gloss
High gloss
What makes each gloss degree distinguished from others?
Gloss degrees are purely a matter of personal taste; some prefer low-gloss over the glossy, while some choose satin semi-gloss. However, some paint technicians recommend using low gloss paint in bedrooms, glossy in children's rooms, and high-gloss in the hall, but these are just opinions that differ according to a person's taste.
